Omnichannel growth creates more transaction systems than most finance teams can reconcile

Sales, tender and deposits do not reconcile by location
POS, card processor, marketplace and bank settlement records close on different schedulesCost:Finance investigates daily differences instead of reviewing performance
Available inventory is different on every channel
Store, warehouse, 3PL, marketplace and web balances lag each other, especially during returns and transfersCost:Overselling, split shipments and stranded inventory
Sales-tax data is incomplete at the source
Ship-to address, exemption status, marketplace facilitator treatment and tax result do not reach finance consistentlyCost:Nexus and filing review starts with transaction cleanup
Returns lose their original economics
Returned item, refund, shipping cost, restocking status and original order are not linked end to endCost:Channel margin and inventory condition are both misstated
New locations repeat the same setup mistakes
Item, price, tax, payment, fulfillment and approval configuration is rebuilt independently for each store or entityCost:Launch delays and inconsistent controls across the chain
Core Module · End-to-end Business Flow

Buy → allocate → sell → fulfill → tax → settle → return

The U.S. retail design connects merchandise purchasing and inventory with store or online orders, fulfillment, sales-tax results, payment settlement and returns. Each channel keeps its customer experience while ERP provides the controlled operating and financial record.

Our approach · Chain-business digitalization ladder

First reconcile the transaction, then optimize the channel

A dependable omnichannel operation starts with common item, location, order and settlement records. Inventory and returns come next. Customer analytics and replenishment become useful only after the channel events agree.

FAQ

Questions U.S. retail and e-commerce operators ask

Can we keep our current POS, Shopify, Amazon or 3PL?
Usually yes. The blueprint decides which platform owns the order, payment, available inventory, fulfillment and return status. MTC then designs the interfaces and an exception queue so a failed sync is repaired as a controlled transaction rather than re-entered silently.
Does every store employee need a full SAP Business One license?
No. Store teams normally remain in the POS or a role-specific mobile workflow. Full SAP Business One access is assigned to the headquarters, finance, purchasing, inventory and operations roles that need ERP functions; licensing is scoped from actual users and responsibilities.
How should sales tax and marketplace facilitator data reach finance?
The order should retain ship-to jurisdiction, exemption information, the tax result and whether the marketplace collected tax. MTC can connect tax services such as Avalara or SAP Localization Hub, but nexus and filing policy remains a decision for the company and its tax adviser.

Reconcile one day of omnichannel sales before discussing a replacement

MTC USA will map one representative day from POS or marketplace order through fulfillment, tax, payment settlement, return and general-ledger posting.

  • POS, e-commerce, marketplace and payment ownership defined
  • Inventory and returns reconciled across store, warehouse and 3PL
  • Sales-tax data retained for nexus and filing review
